Internet Marketing Online
Effective strategies for Internet Marketing Online? There almost seems to be a never-ending stream of advice for fledgling online marketers. So marketingfinder.net is dedicating this page to the basics - the 'cost of entry' strategies for your best chance at success.
Funnily enough, we'll go back to age old marketing principles of product, price, promotion and place. We'll define these a little as we go along but they are the marketing triggers that you must get right to get success.
1. Product - yeah, good one Einstein. Obviously you need a product or service to sell in order to have an internet marketing business. But have you done your homework on it's effectiveness and attractiveness to potential customers. After 25 years in marketing in two continents, I can tell you no-one loves your product as much as you do. No one thinks about it like you either. They have lives to lead and businesses to sweat over themselves.
The reason I say this is to hopefully get across the need for objective appraisal of your product or service. First ask people you know for their feedback. Honest feedback, no sugar coating. Best if they fit the profile of a potential purchaser. Then move onto people who you may not know. Get them to try the product, live with it and tell you what works and what doesn't.
Expect some negative feedback. It makes sense that not everybody in the world will want your product. just try to ascertain there's enough of them to make a successful Internet Marketing Online business.
2. Price - get the price right to maximize sales and profit. Look at other similar businesses in your category, work out you 'cost of goods sold (COGS)' - literally how much it costs you to make and bring to market your product, determine a reasonable profit margin and then test it in the marketplace. You'll soon see if there's a market for your item at the price.
Don't get seduced by cutting the price. Sometimes it's far better strategy to go for value over volume. In other words, less but more profitable customers instead of more but marginally profitable ones.
3. Promotion - this is the fun stuff, at least for me. Internet marketing advertising and tools can be a very inexpensive means to advertise your product to a wide audience.
Get emotional with your message - appeal to people's heart. It's the heart not the head that rules the purchase. Use feeling words, paint word pictures and reflect their lifestyle. Search for an online marketing services company who have had success with businesses like yours.
4. Place - well, that's online in the case of Internet Marketing Online businesses. Having said that it's still most effective to 'act local', regardless if your marketing in different regions, cities or countries. New Zealanders I have found will far more likely visit a site with a .nz than a .com. Fair enough, they love and want to support their country.
Sincerely,
